Our Level 2 Certificate in Fabrication and Welding equips learners with the essential knowledge and hands-on skills needed to start a career in the fabrication and welding sector of the engineering industry.

It is ideal for those wishing to develop a solid understanding of welding techniques, metal fabrication processes, and workshop safety practices.

You will cover key topics such as welding principles and processes, fabrication methods, interpreting engineering drawings, materials and their properties, and health and safety. The course blends theory with practical workshop training, preparing learners for real-world engineering environments.

This qualification provides a strong progression route to a Level 3 Diploma in Engineering, a T Level in Engineering and Manufacturing – Fabrication and Welding, or an Engineering Apprenticeship, leading to careers such as Fabrication Technician, Welder, or Manufacturing Engineer.

Achieved 5 GCSE's grade 9-4 including English or Maths

Assignments, online exam and portfolio

Upon completing this course learners can progress onto the T Level in Engineering, Manufacturing, Processing and Control (Fabrication and Welding).

The T Level offers a more advanced and in-depth study, combining classroom-based learning with an industry placement to develop higher-level skills and practical experience. This pathway prepares learners for skilled employment in roles such as welding technician, metal fabricator, or fabrication engineer.

Additionally, the T Level can serve as a stepping stone to higher-level apprenticeships or further education, such as HNCs, HNDs, or degrees in Engineering and Manufacturing.
