Students Behind the Curtain of Stage Show Cilla the Musical

A group of 50, comprising returning students, graduates and freshers who had yet to enroll, watched the show at Liverpool Empire Theatre. They also got the chance to meet legendary producer and Everton FC chairman Bill Kenwright. Bill was the one who identified The Arden tutor Paul Broughton as the perfect person to play the iconic Scouse starlet Cilla White’s father, John, in the show’s initial Liverpool run.

Students support unique art festival

Stencilled botanical designs inspired by 18th and 19th century working-class botanist societies in Manchester will decorate city centre streets thanks to fashion students from The Manchester College and artists Anna FC Smith and Helen Mather. The Manchester College’s students will also work on a guerrilla photography exhibition that will grow throughout the day long festival and feature on hoardings across the city centre.

You can register to vote up until 11.59pm on Tuesday 26 November , but anyone wanting to register for a postal vote, or for a proxy vote, must do so by 5pm on Tuesday 26 November. Creative Media Students Showcase Talent at Class in the Creative Sector Exhibition

Sarah Atkinson, CEO of the Social Mobility Foundation, discussed the importance of the event, saying: "The creative sector has a diversity problem. Just 26% of people in creative jobs are from working-class backgrounds, and people from privileged backgrounds are twice as likely to land a job in the industry.”

The City is our Canvas

In total, 200 of College’s students responded to the live brief and 26 have been chosen to work with Jack Arts and designer Craig Oldham during the project’s final stages. The final collection will be exhibited on Wednesday 4 March at Manchester Art Gallery with the 26 fly posters also available for sale in the gallery gift shop at £4.50 each.
