Natalie, who is studying event management, said: ‘I entered the competition because I love art and was looking for a way to demonstrate how I felt about hate crime and help make a difference. No matter who you are, where you come from or what you believe in, we are all the same on the inside.’

Sport Students Visited by Anthony Crolla

He also answered a wide range of questions from students covering topics including improving sporting performance, nutrition, preparation, training and mental resilience. In answering questions Anthony stressed the importance of having a plan for a career after sport, the critical role of education, and gave his advice on how to recover from set-backs including injury and defeat.

The Manchester College students benefit from flourishing partnership with St Francis RC Primary School

Pupils from the primary school, which is only a hop, skip and jump away from the College’s Openshaw Campus, recently visited the state-of-the-art sports facilities and took part in a class that the aspiring activity leaders had prepared. It was also the first time that the Sport department’s new mascot made an appearance.

Introducing the newest Students’ Union officer

She will also work closely with the Students’ Union President Sam Lowe and the rest of the SU Executive. Hannah is in her final year of the Art and Design Product Design (Jewellery) HND at our higher education provider UCEN Manchester and is based at Northenden Campus. Originally from Newcastle, she moved to Manchester seven years ago.

A-Level student Callum finds success in Future Journalist 2018 competition

Callum was announced as a winner during a ceremony hosted at Staffordshire University’s campus, where he was also given a tour of the university’s authentic, state-of-the-art newsroom. He said: “It was a real surprise when I won and I didn’t expect it at all. This time last year I might not have considered even applying for something like this, so the experience has taught me to be more confident in my ability and embrace challenges.”

John’s were soon merging to form The Central College Manchester, and later, The Manchester College of Arts (MANCAT).  Over in South Manchester, Fielden Park, Arden and Wythenshawe were merging to eventually form City College Manchester.
