In answering questions Anthony stressed the importance of having a plan for a career after sport, the critical role of education, and gave his advice on how to recover from set-backs including injury and defeat.

It was also the first time that the Sport department’s new mascot made an appearance.

Hannah is in her final year of the Art and Design Product Design (Jewellery) HND at our higher education provider UCEN Manchester and is based at Northenden Campus. Originally from Newcastle, she moved to Manchester seven years ago.

Callum was announced as a winner during a ceremony hosted at Staffordshire University’s campus, where he was also given a tour of the university’s authentic, state-of-the-art newsroom. He said: “It was a real surprise when I won and I didn’t expect it at all. This time last year I might not have considered even applying for something like this, so the experience has taught me to be more confident in my ability and embrace challenges.”
