This qualification is ideal for learners who have successfully completed a Level 1 AAT qualification and shown evidence of a clear understanding of the foundations of accountancy. Alternatively, you could enrol on the Level 2 course directly with a good standard of English and maths and a basic understanding of accounting principles.

Work experience within a sector dealing with financial transactions would be beneficial.

No formal qualifications are required however all learners will be initially assessed for level of English and maths they are working towards and interviewed to identify past achievements/experiences. Level 1 English and maths are desirable.

There are four outcomes for this qualification, all of which are examined;

Introduction to Bookkeeping
Principles of Bookkeeping Controls
Principles of Costing
The Business Environment (synoptic)

You must pass all modules to achieve the full qualification.

Upon successful completion of this qualification, learners will...

Your result will depend on your performance overall and will be graded at a
pass, merit, or distinction.

This course will help develop your skills and knowledge in preparation for a career as a/an;

Assistant Accountant
Finance Assistant
Data entry clerk
Finance analyst

Upon achieving this qualification there will be the opportunity to progress to the AAT Level 3 course. Each learner will be fully
assessed by their tutor to ensure they are ready for progression.

Alternatively, we offer many other short courses which specialise in upskilling and educating learners looking to further their career
prospects related to computing/IT, administrative roles, and law.

As an AAT student you will need to pay for a membership for each level of study. This is a fee paid directly to them. If you are eligible, the college tuition and exam costs will be funded.
