This qualification is ideal for learners who would like to be assessors who are able to assess learners in environments such as classrooms and training centres (not the workplace).

You can work towards the qualification within your own organisation with a flexible study approach. Your assessor will arrange to meet with you at mutually agreed times and venues to coach you and provide you with support in gathering your evidence.

An electronic portfolio and access to a library of learning support materials is available to for you to use at any time throughout your course.

As well as having excellent written and verbal communication skills, you need to be working with learners who need to be assessed to achieve their own accredited qualifications. You'll also need to meet the occupational and qualification requirements for Assessors within your specified industry.
We'll ask you to complete an eligibility checklist before enrolment and may request you attend an interview to ensure the course is suitable for you.

Throughout the duration of the course, you will be assessed in a number of different ways; completion of a workbook, taking part in discussions with your Assessor, completing practical assessments and presenting records of assessment showing that you have assessed your learners.

After gaining some experience, you could develop your skills and knowledge further with the Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice or Level 3 Award in Education and Training at The Manchester College.

Progress on to degree-level study with our higher education partner, UCEN Manchester. Students progressing from The Manchester College will receive a cash award through the Achievers Scholarship.
