The Level 2 Certificate in Barbering is designed to build the hands‑on skills and confidence you need to begin a career in modern barbering. You'll learn the creative techniques behind cutting and styling men's hair, develop specialist skills in shaping and maintaining facial hair and gain the ability to carry out professional client consultations.
Alongside your practical training, you'll develop strong underpinning knowledge of essential health and safety requirements and the professional standards expected within the barbering industry. You'll also deepen your understanding of the techniques you practice throughout the course, helping you to grow both your competence and your confidence.
By the end of the qualification, you'll have developed your practical skills to a high industry standard, preparing you for employment, further training or progression into more advanced barbering pathways.
No formal entry requirements. Evidence of previous work or a commitment to study may be required, along with a subject specific interview.
The study programme provides an opportunity for you to develop a variety of practical, theoretical and employability skills. Within this qualification you are required to complete a minimum of twenty four hours of work experience
You will be on a course where assessment of practical observations supports your programme of learning.
You will build a portfolio of evidence and assessed continually through practical assessment, exams and assignments.

Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Barbering
Level 2 NVQ Diploma in Hairdressing

Learners are required to purchase a kit (Learners will be given approximate costs at interview)
All learners are required to wear a uniform costing approximately £42 and enclosed toe black shoes, with no heel.
