Basic Cake Decorating

The Great British Bake Off has created a passion for all things cake related. If you love baking and want to learn how to decorate cakes, then this is the course for you.

This highly practical, 10-week part-time course is perfect for beginners and enthusiasts alike and will give you the skills you need to create models and flowers and decorate cakes using everything from royal icing to sugar paste.

Whether you're thinking about setting up in business making cakes and cupcakes for special occasions, you work in a bakery, hotel or restaurant, or you're an avid enthusiast, this is the perfect course for you to develop your cake decorating skills and knowledge.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, but you should have a passion for cake making and the enthusiasm to develop your skills and knowledge.

There is no formal assessment for this course. You will develop your practical skills throughout the ten weeks as you learn the techniques of cake decoration.

Upon successful completion of this course you could progress on to our Level 2 Patisserie and Confectionary course or our Intermediate Cake Decoration course or broaden your knowledge further with one of our courses on cupcakes, chocolate, cake, bakes and treats or bread bakery.

The cost for this course is £250 with course requirements and kit supplied by the College.
