Introduction to Beauty Therapy

This course will give you an introduction to the hair and beauty sector and will give you access to several different areas of this sector such as make-up and nail art application, basic manicure and pedicure treatments and plaiting and twisting hair among others.

You'll also learn about health and safety as well as how to present a proffesional image in a salon such as creating and maintaining retail displays and performing salon reception duties whilst building product knowledge.

There are no formal requirements however applicants should have good listening and communication skills.

It would also help to possess artistic flair and have a positive attitude towards work skills.

You will be on a course where assessment of practical and written work, written tests, assignments and practical observations support your programme of learning. you will also build a portfolio of evidence.

Upon successful completion of this qualification, students can advance their Hair and Beauty skills by enrolling on one of our many short courses or progressing on to Level 2 Styling and Dressing Hair.
