This course is designed to provide a comprehensive education in sports science, combining theoretical knowledge with practical experience to prepare students for a successful career in the sports industry. Areas covered by this course include:
· Anatomy and Physiology: Understanding the human body, its functions, and how it responds to physical activity.
· Fitness Testing and Assessment: Learning various methods to evaluate physical fitness and performance.
· Individual and Team Sports: Gaining skills and knowledge in a variety of sports, both solo and team-based.
· Strength and Conditioning: Developing programs to enhance athletic performance and prevent injuries.
· Lab-Based Assessments: Conducting practical experiments and assessments in a controlled environment.
Activities that students will undertake include practical sports sessions, fitness testing, work experience, lab work and team projects.
Skills that students will learn include technical skills, analytical skills, teamwork and leadership, communication and industry knowledge.

Students will be assessed through a variety of practical and theory assessments. learners will also be assessed in the workplace through work experience.
Upon successful completion of this qualification students will be able to progress onto university study or go straight into industry. Learners can also progress on to degree-level study with our higher education partner, UCEN Manchester.
