The Manchester College Students On BBC Radio 4 Drama

“I’m so proud to be building these exciting connections within the industry and I hope we can continue to ensure our students get the best opportunities when embarking upon a career in the arts.” Participating in a read-through for this adaptation of John Wynham’s 1957 novel gave students an important insight into the preparation that goes into a performance, where writers and the production team can get a feel for the play before recording.

Heats will be held in the morning with the best acts going through to the final in the afternoon. The categories are musical theatre, acting, musical performance and dance. The College has the opportunity to host the Performing Arts competition as it won that event last year.

College restaurant awarded AA rosette

The AA College Restaurant Award is judged by industry inspectors and looks at the whole dining experience – service, hospitality, venue and food. During their visit to Bistro East, the inspectors commented it was “great to see training of chefs to understand the pressures and needs of the FOH [front of house] environment” and they received “a professional and structured service”.
