For the 2025 to 2026 academic year: Up to £199.62 a week for 1 child Up to £342.24 a week for 2 or more children For example: If your childcare costs £100 a week for one child, you’d get £85 (85% of £100) If your childcare costs £250 a week for one child, you’d get £199.62. This is because 85% of £250 is £212.50, which is more than the weekly cap So you’d need to cover the difference yourself.

Patisserie students win international dessert competition

College students entered 13 dishes, earning three Certificate of Merits, four Bronze Awards, five Silver Awards and one Gold Award, for Level 3 student Taylor-Jade Frendo’s entry. The students’ efforts meant The Manchester College was named the Asian Plate Art Awards Education Champions 2020, reflecting their hard work and talent.

Employment initiatives

It is delivered by specialist Youth Support Workers and includes communication, team working and employability skills, equipping the learners with tools to progress with their lives and to overcome barriers to engagement. The programme includes a one week residential, a team challenge, a community project, work experience and progression planning alongside formalised sessions on communication and employability skills.

Our Success at Greater Manchester Skills Competition

We're so proud that these placements were across a wide range of challenges which showcased our students' industry-standard skills across our curriculum.
