Career Focus on the Sports Industry

Generally speaking, if you are currently studying an extended diploma, depending on your overall grade, you could progress to studying a conventional undergraduate degree of three years. Alternatively, if you have studied only one year of a level 3 course, and you are now 18 years of age or older, you would likely need to study a foundation year, which would then be followed by an undergraduate degree.

Students from The Manchester College set to compete in WorldSkills UK National Finals

Students talk all things Animal Care

You get to learn lots of theory, on topics such as biology, grooming and feeding, which supports all the practical work we do caring for the animals. There were other courses closer to where I live but it was this one in particular that I wanted to come to because of its study modules. I originally wanted to work with dogs in particular, but there is such a large mix of animals here that I’m loving working with the racoons.

Skilled Helen is on top of the world!

She also attended the WorldSkills Sao Paolo 2015 cycle and the Abu Dhabi cycle in 2017. Her services to the organisation have now been recognised with one of only four Certificates of Merit awarded to UK members. Once a year the Chief Executive Officer invites WorldSkills members to nominate distinguished individuals for a Certificate of Merit, which are then considered by the Board and approved nominees presented at the General Assembly.
