Automotive sector descends on The Manchester College’s Openshaw Campus for the Independent Garages Network’s inaugural event

Ayub was keen to point out that there is a huge focus on sustainability at the moment and said: “From tools and parts all the way through to machinery and vehicles, there is a growing emphasis on sustainability across the sector.  One of the ways we can play our part is by providing our students with the knowledge and skills they need to work on the products that are currently being sold in show rooms.”

The Manchester College students' poster designs among winners of Coronation Generation Challenge

Students from the College’s Industry Excellence Academy for Creative & Digital Media took part in a photography and design workshop organised by the Ideas Foundation in April, from which three poster designs were selected by the judges across all entries to be displayed on digital billboards on sites across the UK including Manchester, Liverpool, Ealing, and Glasgow, donated by Clear Channel UK.

Patrik’s industry ready after year-long placement

The Manchester College and PureGym Get Students Employed

Stuart Nickson, who is Head of Department for Sport, Public Services and Criminology at The Manchester College, added: “By the time they start their placements, our students will have already delivered personal training sessions in the state-of-the-art sports facilities at our Openshaw Campus, so they’ll arrive at PureGym with a good level of experience. Stuart explained: “This initiative is all about helping our students transition smoothly into the fitness industry and making them ideally prepared to be interviewed for roles such as Personal Trainer or Fitness Coach.
