The Level 3 Certificate in Assessing Vocational Achievement is ideal for you if you want to be an Assessor who is capable of assessing learning in both the working environment and within classrooms and training centres.

You can work towards this qualification in your own time, with a flexible approach to studying. You will get support from your Assessor when you need it alongside regular coaching sessions and you'll have access to a library of learning support materials and electronic portfolio.

As well as having excellent written and verbal communication skills, you need to be working with learners who need to be assessed to achieve their own accredited qualifications.

You must meet the occupational and qualification requirements for Assessors within your specified industry. We'll ask you to complete an eligibility checklist before enrolment and may request you attend an interview to ensure the course is suitable for you.

Due to Government changes to grading systems for GCSEs in 16/17, please follow the below link to see specific entry criteria for school leavers School Leaver Entry Requirements

Throughout the duration of the course, you will be assessed in a number of different ways; completion of a workbook, taking part in discussions with your Assessor, completing practical assessments and presenting records of assessment showing that you have assessed your learners.

"After gaining some experience, you could develop your skills and knowledge further with the Level 4 Award in the Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice at The Manchester College.

You may also wish to work towards a teaching qualification and a great place to start is a Level 3 Award in Education and Training. You can also progress on to degree-level study with our higher education partner, UCEN Manchester. Students progressing from The Manchester College will receive a cash award through the Achievers Scholarship. Whichever path you choose, there'll be a wide range of roles in the teaching industry open to you.
