Throughout the course, you will take part in a number of practical activities that will help you to understand:
• The fundamentals of cyber security
• The threat intelligence associated with cyber security
• How cyber security systems are tested and flaws identified
• How to respond to an incident
• Associated legal and ethical conduct, and professional behaviour expectations.

You do not need to have any specific prior knowledge to join this course, however, you may find it helpful if you have already achieved a Level 2 Digital Skills or Information Technology qualification.
Level 2 Functional Skills or GCSE in English and maths would be desirable, but applicants can be assessed on an individual basis for past experiences and overseas qualifications.

During the course you will be assessed by a range of methods such as:
• Research and analysis
• Reports
• Written or oral question and answer
• Discussion
• Assignment
• Presentation

This course is funded by the GM Skills Fund and free to learners aged 19+ who haven't already achieved a first or second full Level 3 qualification.
