Mental Health and Substance Support

Supporting our students with Mental Health and Substance Misuse.

Our student’s wellbeing is of paramount importance to us.

Unfortunately, life at college can sometimes highlight mental health problems. We also recognise that some students may try to mask their problems with substance misuse and it is important that we have the right people who can provide the expert guidance both to us and our students directly.

This is why we have partnered with the addiction treatment experts at UKAT. They provide detailed information, signs and symptoms, coping strategies and treatment options for all types of addictions, from eating disorders, cannabis, alcohol and cocaine misuse through to how to help someone struggling with gaming, gambling and overusing the internet or social media.

UKAT also offers a 24/7 online chat where you can reach out and talk to someone who is themselves in recovery from addiction who can advise you on how best to support your child. Rest assured we’re also letting the students know about this directly.

There are also lots of great local services across Greater Manchester where you might want to turn to to support your child, please see below.
