The 29-year-old personal trainer sat his GCSE English at the College while completing an Access to HE Health and Physiotherapy course with higher education provider UCEN Manchester and running his own business. He will now start a sports rehabilitation degree at the University of Salford in September.

The Manchester College and UCEN Manchester shortlisted for multiple Manchester Adult Education and Skills Awards

Glenn Meads and Shelley Deasey, who teach on UCEN Manchester’s Access to HE in English, Writing and Media course, are both up for the Tutor of the Year Award. Glenn has also successfully nominated a student on that course, Melissa Lander, for the Return to Learning Award.

Famya's art chosen for Manchester Open Exhibition

The exhibition runs until April 28. Transcript Hi, my name is Famya Faraz. I am on the access to HE English, Writing and Media course. We are at HOME theatre as my artwork is in their art gallery at the moment. My piece is my two personal characters from Dungeons and Dragons.

Creative Media students quiz local MP Afzal Khan

Level 3 Creative Media student Aneasha Marsh said: “I thought that the experience with Afzal Khan was interesting as I got to ask my personal questions. I felt comfortable and confident speaking to him as he was very nice and polite. He gave our class a great speech about himself and how he has got to where he is now. It was very inspiring and I enjoyed it a lot.”
