The Advanced Learner Loan is available for those over 19 years old, studying a Level 3 or Level 4 course in further education and training. This includes Access to Higher Education (HE) diplomas, and some other certificates and diplomas. You’ll need to have been resident in the UK for the last three years to be eligible. You can also apply if you are a member of the UK armed forces serving outside of England studying distance learning.

Spotlight on a career in… Forensic Science

It was whilst I was studying my degree that I became interested in pursuing a career in forensic science. I later went onto study a Postgraduate Diploma in Information Technology.  Whilst studying I also completed a night class in forensic photography and communications in forensics, which gave me practical skills as well as skills in delivering presentations and public speaking in a forensics field.

Career Focus on the Sports Industry

As with any other higher education course, there are entry requirements that must be met to secure a place. Generally speaking, if you are currently studying an extended diploma, depending on your overall grade, you could progress to studying a conventional undergraduate degree of three years. Alternatively, if you have studied only one year of a level 3 course, and you are now 18 years of age or older, you would likely need to study a foundation year, which would then be followed by an undergraduate degree.

How to Become a Qualified Nurse
