‘Try, try, try’ – student’s gold medal joy at World Skills UK

Kirsty is currently studying for a Level 3 qualification in nail technologies at our Northenden Campus. In the regional heats, Kirsty was placed in the top ten nail technicians competing in the country and was selected to compete in the national finals at Birmingham NEC. After competing against nine other technicians to complete a brief set by the judges on the day, Kirsty was named Gold Medal winner at the evening awards ceremony.

The Manchester College Students at AHT Blackpool Competition - Students from The Manchester College’s Centre of Excellence for Hair and Beauty Therapy recently took part in the Association of Hairdressers and Therapists' (AHT) regional heat at Norbreck Castle Hotel in Blackpool  and walked away with five top four finishes across three categories. The regional heat leads to the national final at the same venue in May and it has been a hallmark event on the Hair and Beauty department’s annual calendar for years, providing the opportunity for the College's students to compete against aspiring hair and beauty professionals from across the region.
