Patisserie students win international dessert competition

Patisserie and Confectionary students entered the Asian Plate Art Awards , showing off their skills by making beautiful Asian desserts and submitting images for judging. College students entered 13 dishes, earning three Certificate of Merits, four Bronze Awards, five Silver Awards and one Gold Award, for Level 3 student Taylor-Jade Frendo’s entry.

Hidden gems of Manchester inspire Art and Design students of The Manchester College - Various hidden gems in Manchester were cleverly recreated by students of The Manchester College as part of an exhibition at the city’s beautiful Portico Library on Monday night (March 20). A total of 23 students on the Foundation Art and Design Diploma course were tasked with collecting a number of drawings in a variety of different media from some of the most inspiring parts of the city, including Manchester Museum, Manchester Art Gallery and The Portico Library.

Nicholls football students turn professional players

The pair took time out from their busy schedules to head back to the Nicholls Community Football Centre of Excellence, part of The Manchester College, to speak to future footy stars about making it in the beautiful game. Midfielder Carlos, who is originally from Lanzarote, had previously played for the Atletico Madrid youth team before moving to England with family three years ago.
