Nicholls football students turn professional players

He said: “There were moments when I questioned the time I’d spent playing football and worried that I’d wasted my time, but I also made sure I passed Level 3 Engineering because education is important to me.” Lamin moved from The Gambia to Huddersfield five years ago. The 20 year old midfielder had trials at a number of clubs across Yorkshire and Lancashire, and even played for League 2 Preston North End Football Club for two years.

Students ‘Rise Up’ to win Denstu industry challenge

Over 300 students across the UK took part in the competition, including students on the College’s Level 2 Creative Digital Media Production and Design course. Their brief was to create an advertising, marketing and media campaign to show how Co-op and Cadbury can come together to inspire generosity and co-operation to showcase a little more goodness in local communities, focusing on fairer access to food and reducing food waste.

The Manchester College Students High-Profile Campaign

Representatives from the Intellectual Property Office visited The Manchester College’s brand-new City Campus Manchester, a state-of-the-art facility in the heart of Manchester city centre, to watch a presentation from the Level 3 students. The campaign aims to highlight the consumer risks associated with buying counterfeit goods, an illegal trade which, alongside piracy, costs the UK economy billions of pounds every year.

Performances from our Dance and Music students entertained our guests and showcased the exceptional levels of skill our students have attained. In addition, six alumni from The Manchester College were given a live brief from the Manchester Art Gallery to take a fresh look at the Gallery’s vast collection and assess the collection's relevance in the 21st century.

There are many different routes into the industry, so you will be able to find one to suit you and your preferred method of learning, ideally combining a vocational qualification with quality work experience on site. Our partner employers tell us there is a skills shortage at Levels 3, 4 and 5, so if you aim to progress up through these tiers, you’ll be highly employable and always in work; just look at the number of Construction projects in your neighbourhood alone, not to mention in our city centre.
