Students visited the company’s design studio in Denton and worked alongside Liam and his team, experiencing first-hand the process of the design process through to construction.  Liam said: The students were all incredibly enthusiastic, dedicated and a huge help in getting the integral parts of the sculpture ready at Lazerian. By working together as a team it shows great community spirit and that's what this project is all about.

The Manchester College prepares for the ECFA Men’s Premier Cup Semi-Final

Our men’s first team have beaten Burnley College (3 rd Round), TNS North Shropshire College (4 th Round), Newcastle Under Lyme College (5 th Round) and Tresham College in the Quarter-Final to give themselves a great chance of lifting the trophy. What has made this achievement all the more remarkable is that all our players are enrolled on academic and vocational courses at our College and play football alongside their chosen studies.

Mariatu, worked as an electrician in her native Sierra Leone, said: “All I wanted to do in school was to be a nurse but my family were all engineers. “It feels really good to get this result! I’m working as a carer at the minute but studying a nursing degree will give me a professional qualification and means I can work in a hospital environment.”

The awards, hosted with LTE Group partner organizations UCEN Manchester and Total People , celebrated dedication and excellence in students and apprentices from across all three organizations.   More than 450 nominations were received and over 240 of our students, apprentices, their guests, and our colleagues, attended to see 20 awards presented to the worthy winners.
