The Manchester College names Wythenshawe campus Howard House

The Manchester College names Wythenshawe campus Howard House - The Manchester College and parent organisation LTE Group have named their Wythenshawe site Howard House in honour of former student and passionate fundraiser Kirsty Howard.  Kirsty’s family were VIP guests at the official naming ceremony on Friday 23 March and unveiled the plaque announcing the new name of the recently-refurbished site.

Construction students help out at 422 Manchester

In a true team effort, around 40 students from a range of Level 2 and 3 courses have lent their time and skills to assist with the project, including electrical installation, plumbing, plastering and site joinery. When current lockdown restrictions are lifted, there are plans for students on brickwork and painting & decorating courses to also get involved.

Update following latest government announcement

As you may have seen, the government has today announced that educational settings will reopen from Monday 8 March. This will enable us to return to site on a managed basis and to resume the blended learning model that was in place during the autumn term, with a combination of on-site face-to-face learning and remote lessons.

Student performance is a first for professional theatre company

Charlotte Todd, 22, who is a third year student on the BA (Hons) Theatre and Performance course, said: This whole experience has been a real eye-opener. It’s provided me with the experience I’ll need to prepare me for life in the industry that’s waiting for me after graduation. Fellow student, Ashley Griffith, 23, said: “This has taught me how to adapt to changes to the script during the regular workshop sessions and let me get first-hand experience with industry professionals.”
