The Angel of Angel Meadow

Liam, Founder and Owner of Manchester’s creative consultancy Lazarian, whose clientele include; John Lewis, Rimmel London, Nestle and Virgin media, oversaw the community project that involves students from across Greater Manchester. Students visited the company’s design studio in Denton and worked alongside Liam and his team, experiencing first-hand the process of the design process through to construction.

The Manchester College is AoC Beacon Awards double finalist

The College, which is number one for achievement in Greater Manchester , is now through to the third and final stage of the competition in the following two categories: The Careers and Enterprise Company Award for Innovation in Careers and Enterprise Jisc Award for Effective use of Digital Technology in Further Education The finalists were officially announced at the AoC Conference this week. Each finalist will now be visited by a team of assessors over the next two months to gain a better understanding of individual submissions before the winners are announced at a national award ceremony on 20 March, 2020.

Top Chinese chef cooks up a storm

Top Chinese chef cooks up a storm - Kevin Liu, Chef/Director of Tops Buffet Restaurant in Manchester, treated staff and students at The Manchester College to a master class in Chinese cuisine when he visited the College’s Openshaw Campus. Kevin prepared five dishes to showcase traditional Chinese cuisine and new trends. Beijing roast duck, Sichuan crispy beef and Cantonese sweet and sour chicken were the traditional dishes alongside the new trends of salmon from Chinese Imperial cuisine and a dessert called Snow White which comes from private home cuisine.

Couch to 5K

To encourage all students and staff to be healthy and get enjoyment out of fitness in the new year, The Manchester College is running a ‘Couch to 5K’ Fitness programme. The 9-week fitness programme commences on the Tuesday 14 January 2020 and will take place every Tuesday and Thursday at St Johns Campus from 4.15 pm until 5.00 pm, supported by one of our UCEN Manchester Sport students.
