The project has created 135 apartments, with 66 for affordable rent, 39 shared ownership and 30 for outright sale. Our Principal, Lisa O’Loughlin, was present at the event, while Coronation Street star Sue Cleaver, who plays Eileen Grimshaw in the popular soap, also took a break from the cobbles to be there, along with a number of VIP guests.

Schools go sky high for airport careers event - Pupils from secondary schools across Manchester were ready for take-off after attending a ‘Hidden Jobs at the Airport’ experience day at Wythenshawe campus. The Manchester College’s Schools Liaison Team and the Manchester United Foundation hosted the event which saw businesses working in and around Manchester Airport give students a taste of the wide variety of career opportunities available.

Students At Openshaw Campus Raise £600 for Children in Need

While some students used their baking skills to hold a cake sale, others showed off their craft skills and sold handmade jewellery.  The fundraising formed part of their practical assessment for the Policing Leadership unit and also complements the largest part of their first criminology exam, where they must plan and market activities to promote a campaign for change.

Maisie Maguire is currently the Executive Producer of The Voice, having previously worked on shows such as I’m a Celebrity! Get Me Out of Here, The Xtra Factor and Total Wipeout. Maisie was invited to College by Achievement Tutor Louise Ince, as part of ScreenSkills Creative Careers Week .
