Real Food Wythenshawe Geodome officially launched on College campus

Sustainability is all we're talking about in Parliament and we're seeing it in action here Mike Kane MP said: ‘Sustainability is all we’re talking about in Parliament and we’re seeing it in action here.’ He went on to announce the winners of the sustainability competition, with the reclaimed car roaring into second place and first place awarded to a souped-up sound system with LED lights, built by students at the College’s Moston Campus.

Students cook up four-course feast with Exose Grant

Incredibly generous with his time, the event was the latest way Exose Grant has supported The Manchester College.  He holds regular masterclasses on campus as well as involving students in external events, such as the recent Chefs’ Forum Manchester Chefs’ Lunch at Ducie Street Warehouse.

Award-winning catering facilities at The Manchester College

The department received a Silver Award for the student support it offers and the valuable access to work placements through industry partnerships. The Bistro received recognition with an AA Award College Rosette. The two awards recognise the forward-thinking nature of the College and good quality provision available for students in the department.

The Manchester College commended for its support of students

Some features of our enrichment programme that really have a positive impact on our students include behavioural mentors and human libraries. These innovative approaches allow students access to real people who understand or have experienced the consequences of ‘risk taking’. Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for the School System, Lord Agnew, said: “The College deserves great credit for how it demonstrated the provision of intensive support to safeguard individuals in challenging circumstances.”

Tutors from UCEN Manchester also attended the celebration to show students the industry opportunities they could access through higher education. Talking about the event Childhood Studies Course Leader Gillian Taylor said: "It was a fantastic opportunity to show our students how proud we are of not only of their achievements and success but also how much they’ve grown during their time at The Manchester College.”
