Art & Design students display work at Manchester Central Library

The students, who are studying on our Foundation Studies in Art and Design Diploma course , each developed a body of work inspired by a book from the library.  Produced in traditional messy art school rooms at City Campus Manchester , where students become inspired and have tested the possibilities of ideas, research and practical production, the works on show are an insight into their personal research and subject matter.

Animation student's Manchester Publicity Association Award

The runner-up, Ray, was nominated during the second year of studying for a Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology with a specialism in Animation. Katy also encouraged Ray's nomination and spoke highly of her naturally inquisitive mind and first-rate artistic ability.

Famya's art chosen for Manchester Open Exhibition

Simran returns to offer games workshop to students

Simran Whitham left the College in 2015 after studying our Level 3 Extended diploma in Games Development and launched his own business, Tri-Heart Interactive, with fellow university graduate Kieran Rogers. The duo delivered an engaging day-long session at Openshaw Campus with Creative Arts students, including many budding video game developers.

Work experience helps shape Zubair’s plans to build career in architecture

The Employability and Partnership team work tirelessly to provide opportunities for our students. Zubair is studying for an extended diploma in Construction and the Built Environment, with a view to starting a career in architecture, but he was beginning to doubt whether this was the path for him.

Adult Education in Manchester: A Guide to Funding Options

They must be studying a Level 3 or Level 4 course. This includes Access to Higher Education diplomas, and some other certificates and diplomas. They must have been a resident in the UK for the last three years. Learners can also apply if they are a member of the UK armed forces serving outside of England and studying distance learning.

The Manchester College celebrates students’ achievements

Grace O’Reilly is one student celebrating after gaining a Grade 6 in English and is looking forward to starting an Access to Higher Education Diploma in Nursing and Midwifery this September. Grace said: “All my tutors have been fantastic and I’ve really enjoyed my classes. Will shortlisted for top digital award

This is massive achievement considering Will was not even 18 when he created his animation just under a year ago. Will, who completed his UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma last year, is currently continuing his studies with a degree in Animation at the University of Hertfordshire. The Manchester College Principal Lisa O’Loughlin said: “We’re all immensely proud of Will and he’s done a fantastic job as a college student to be recognised in an event of this scale alongside professionals and university students.

Postcard project portrays life in lockdown

‘ Postcards from the Edge ’ was created by students on the Level 3 Art and Design Diploma and their tutor, Eve Robinson.  The project began with students expressing their lockdown feelings through art created on a postcard, which was then extended to friends, family and the community aged between four to 86.
