Performing Arts at The Manchester College

I’ve done everything, from playing the Easter Bunny in a shopping centre to playing Lady Macbeth, from touring 5* hotels in the United Arab Emirates to touring Lancaster in the back of a transit van. “After getting involved in theatre in education, I discovered a new joy in working with young people. I’ve been at The Manchester College for the past three and a half years, where I teach Level 3 Acting, and have taught Musical Theatre.

A day in the life of Manchester’s Fire and Rescue

The students said this was an “eye opening” experience as they witnessed first-hand the dangers and consequences of reckless driving. The visit resulted in a hands-on demonstration as the team prompted two students to be cut out of a car using real industry tools in a role playing exercise.

Students from the college are in India making a film about the Foundation’s work, while another group of students will create a new website for the charity. Jack Grindrod and Darryl Borbitey, both studying on our BA Visual Communication and Creative Media course, are into the second week of their journey to India, along with tutor, Heath Olive.

How to Get the Most Out of Your Industry Placement
