Animation Students Have ‘Motion Poems’ Screened at Event

Tutor Katy Rushton added: “This project came at the perfect time as I wanted to introduce my new animation first years to working with type. The subject matter of the poems gave the animation students a lot of scope to be creative and visualise how the typography could tell the stories of the poems.

Creative & Digital Students Fly High After RSPB Experience

We left the brief fairly open to give the students creative freedom and encourage them to come up with their own concepts. This proved to be the right move - my colleagues and I have been so impressed with the materials produced. The student’s creative aptitude was evident in their ideas and in their final designs.

The Manchester College prepares for the ECFA Men’s Premier Cup Semi-Final

Jarrad holds his FA Level 3 (UEFA B license) in Coaching Football and also coaches part time at a Premier League football club. When asked about the upcoming Semi-Final, Jarrad said: “I am so proud of our students, but the hard work doesn’t stop here. We play football the right way and I firmly believe we can win the tournament, but we can’t look past The Sheffield College who will be full of confidence ahead of our game on Wednesday afternoon.

We’re currently a category two team but we’ve beaten a number of category one teams during this season’s ECFA Men’s Premier Cup run, including The Sheffield College. It also allows them to meet peers from other colleges and express themselves on a competition stage. I am proud of what both Taylor and Annie have achieved. They have had to put extra sessions in at College to train and all their hard work is paying off.
