Metrolink Shena Simon Campus is close to the Piccadilly Gardens Metrolink (tram) stop. Train Oxford Road and Piccadilly train stations are a few minutes' walk from the campus.

Students' Union Open Dedicated Spaces Across Campus Sites

Based at Openshaw, Fielden, St John’s Centre, Shena Simon, Nicholls, Northenden, and Harpurhey campuses, these will include a mixture of classrooms and sections of common rooms and canteens. They will all be clearly marked with SU logos but some will focus on The Manchester College students and others UCEN Manchester students. The news spaces will enable union members, Students Reps and the Student Council to support: Student Council meetings SU meetings and weekly drop-ins Promoting the NUS Totum card Student/staff feedback (comment cards will be made available to all students) Signposting to other services The work of clubs and societies The academic interests of students.

The Manchester College Students Running City Centre Hotel

Over 30 students from the College’s Hospitality and Catering, Business, ESOL and supported learning and maintenance curriculum areas all took part in the scheme, which provides on-the-job training that can often lead to permanent employment with InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), the parent organisation of Crowne Plaza.

Impressive 25% rise in GCSE English passes for 16-18 year-old students

Students at The Manchester College responded in style to the new GCSE grading system with a 14% increase in the number of English high grades (9-4) for all students (18-16 and 19+). Largely regarded by education experts as the hardest GCSE exams in 30 years, the College has seen its overall pass rate increase to 96% this year and rise by 8% for high grades 9-4 (A*-C).
