Liam, Founder and Owner of Manchester’s creative consultancy Lazarian, whose clientele include; John Lewis, Rimmel London, Nestle and Virgin media, oversaw the community project that involves students from across Greater Manchester. Students visited the company’s design studio in Denton and worked alongside Liam and his team, experiencing first-hand the process of the design process through to construction.

Help is at hand from super tutor Gary

Gary will be travelling to Pen-Y-Garnedd in Wales over the Easter holidays to help a fellow tradesman Peter Cape, a 46 year old plumber and BoB volunteer, who found himself wheelchair-bound after suffering serious injuries in December 2018. Band of Builders visited the Level 2 Carpentry and Joinery students in December 2018 to talk about the work they did and the online ACT (Apprentice Training College) group, which allows students to share construction projects and receive professional advice.

Art Assembly nominated for Manchester Culture Award

First launched back in 2018 by Manchester City Council to acknowledge the city’s rapidly growing reputation for culture and the arts, the Manchester Culture Awards celebrate the very best of culture and the arts in the city with nominations invited from members of the public, arts professionals, the voluntary and community sector and others. Over 400 nominations were submitted for the 2023 awards in twelve categories. Art Assembly is up in the Made in Manchester category, which celebrates a physical, digital or other form of creativity that demonstrates the depth of amazing work in the city, particularly art forms that have been less represented in the awards to date.
