Battle of the Bands

Our students showcased their musical talent at the renowned Band on the Wall venue in an exhilarating Battle of the Bands event on 12 February.

With ten bands representing different levels of Music courses from Level 2 all the way up to degree-level at UCEN Manchester, the competition highlighted the vibrant music scene in Manchester. It provided a platform for our aspiring artists to excel where they displayed an impressive range of musical styles, from rock and indie to acid jazz, leaving the audience in awe of their talents. 
 
The Battle of the Bands offered the students a chance to secure one of four spots at the Party in the Pews music festival in Macclesfield on Bank Holiday weekend in May 2024. The panel of judges, including renowned musician Clint Boon, a record label owner and the festival organiser, assessed the performances and provided valuable industry feedback to the talented participants. 
 
The atmosphere was electric as the students delivered captivating performances, demonstrating their dedication and passion for music. The event not only showcased their talent but also fostered collaboration and a sense of community among the participants. 
 
As the judges deliberated, the students left a lasting impression on the crowd, leaving no doubt about bright futures in the Manchester music scene. Our students proved that with hard work, passion, and opportunities like these, they are poised to make their mark in the music industry.
