Construction and Engineering Applicants Online Summer School

Tutors have used their increased experience of online teaching during lockdown to reconnect with this year’s applicant cohort, particularly those who applied for the Architectural and Construction Engineering Scholarship, Built Environment Diplomas and Engineering Diplomas.  Applicants were offered the chance to take part in a three-week online challenge, utilising the Class of Your Own Design Engineer Construct Connect Award.

Creative Media Student Praised By Greater Manchester Mayor

Creative Media student Lucas Ewan has received praise from Mayor for Greater Manchester Andy Burnham after producing an animated video to clearly explain the GMCA’s strategy surrounding Science Technology Engineering and Maths (STEM). Lucas, who is studying for his UAL Extended Diploma in Creative Media Production Technology – Motion Design and Animation course delivered in partnership with Flow Creative, worked to a live brief in order to produce the video that was debuted in November at a STEM event for the GMCA stakeholders.

Art & Design students display work at Manchester Central Library

The students, who are studying on our Foundation Studies in Art and Design Diploma course , each developed a body of work inspired by a book from the library.  Produced in traditional messy art school rooms at City Campus Manchester , where students become inspired and have tested the possibilities of ideas, research and practical production, the works on show are an insight into their personal research and subject matter.

The runner-up, Ray, was nominated during the second year of studying for a Diploma in Creative Media Production and Technology with a specialism in Animation. Katy also encouraged Ray's nomination and spoke highly of her naturally inquisitive mind and first-rate artistic ability.
